Meet Dr. Glendon

Hello, folks.  Most of you don't know how rigorous chiropractic school can be so let me tell you a bit about it and myself. I graduated from Palmer College of Chiropractic, in Davenport, Iowa, in December, 1982. (Note: Palmer College of Chiropractic was the first school to teach this new method of healing, opening its doors in 1897, and was named after its discoverer, Dr. Daniel David Palmer.) After passing the strenuous National Board and Illinois State Licensing Examinations (I'll bet you didn't know that chiropractic school and medical school are almost identical in training, however, as chiropractic doctors are natural health care doctors, most of us are not schooled in drugs or surgery. The basic science examination for a license to practice medicine in the State of Illinois, where I hold a license, is identical for chiropractic doctors (true in 1983)).

After practicing for a year in a small Illinois farming town I traveled to the African country of Zimbabwe where I was actively engaged in a very busy practice that included caring for animals; horses and dogs. While there I was elected vice-president of the Chiropractic Association of Zimbabwe.  After returning to the U.S. I operated a busy personal injury practice in Chicago, Illinois.  I was contacted by Belmont Community Hospital to participate in their chiropractic hospital staff program but I had to decline.

Because shorthly aftereafter, I traveled to Manila where I married my sweetheart of more than three years, Adela, and where I remained for eight years. I was active there in writing chiropractic legislation (better left to lawyers), in writing a chiropractic textbook (yet to be published), becoming certified in clinical hypnotherapy, in teaching classes on complementary healing and health care, and caring for all strata of patients in office or in home service. I was awarded teh Outstanding Chiropractic Physician of the Year Award by a news data gathering agency in 1999.

In addition to practicing chiropractic, hypnotherapy and other complementary healing methods, I enjoy designing airplanes, photography, computers, but most of all my family: Adela, my above mentioned sweetie; 9 year old daughter Mariel, who will grow up to be a singer or actress - or veterinarian, she hasn't decided yet; and 7 year old David, destined to be a giant in demolition derby.
